Fragmentation

2023

I believe that the fragility of the human being is directly related to the disconnection with mother Earth, with nature and with our own nature, creating a false sense of fragility that would dissipate completely if we connect with our inner nature and the outer nature (both the very expression of God).

This fragility is even more accentuated in adolescence, a period in which the ego mask is forming more strongly as it continues to test different forms and/or styles in which to define itself in order to be accepted in a particular social group or groups.

In a somewhat dramatic way, the adolescent breaks down, divides internally as in different fractals, creating the illusion of duality and beginning the path of suffering. He/she moves away from his/her authentic Self, from his/her essence that he/she enjoyed and expressed with great naturalness in his/her childhood, to get closer to his/her ego and choose what colour to paint his/her new mask.

These 4 works from the series Fragmentation were presented for the first time in September 2023 at the international festival of photography and visual arts PHotoESPAÑA in the exhibition entitled ‘NO LIMITS (I)’ curated by Fernando Barrionuevo and held at MECA Mediterráneo Centro Artístico (Almería, Spain).
